The Year 2 students had their Term 1 speech presentations on Tuesday 11th June and Thursday 13th June. These presentations were part of an inquiry-based learning project designed to encourage students to explore topics related to Singapore through a process of questioning and investigation.
For this project, each class selected a topic related to Singapore. They then engaged in discussions to identify what sparked their curiosity about the chosen topic and what they wanted to investigate further on an individual basis. Additionally, they collaborated to design slides that visually and creatively showcased their research findings.
Teamwork and collaboration were key components of this project, as students worked together throughout the process. The Term 1 speech presentations provided an enjoyable and educational experience for the Year 2 students. They were able to engage in inquiry-based learning, enhancing their research, collaboration, and public speaking skills. Students presented on topics such as ‘Singapore and its Global Role,’ ‘Singapore: City of the Future,’ ‘Singapore and its Relationship with Malaysia,’ and ‘Lee Kuan Yew and Family.’
The presentations were a success, and students had fun while gaining valuable insights into their chosen topics related to Singapore.
