2024.11.15 Term 2 Speech Contest for Year 1 Students

The Year 1 Speech Contest took place on Monday, 4th November, and Wednesday, 6th November. This term, students had the freedom to choose their own topics, resulting in a wonderful variety of speeches.

As part of this project, students were encouraged to select a subject that truly interested them, or a topic inspired by personal experiences. With only two minutes to present, each speech was carefully crafted and memorized, with students using cue cards for support. Students also had the option to design slides to complement their presentations, enhancing their stories visually and keeping the audience engaged.

The speech contest is a highlight of the term, giving Year 1 students a platform to practice public speaking and develop presentation skills. This event counts toward 10% of their final grade, with each presentation evaluated based on content and delivery.

This year’s contest provided an exciting range of perspectives, showcasing students' creativity and unique insights. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication!
